Al Rawnaq – Doha’s treasure trove of craft supplies, junk jewellery and random nic-nacks.

Rawnaq sprawls over 2 floors and has everything from sewing supplies, ribbons, headbands, kitsch jewellery and even a whole section for Swarovski crystals. On todays trip I found a new collection of fascinators and headbands, some of which wouldn’t be out of place in Accessorize, and only for QR28!

Located in the souk area behind the Qatar Islamic Center (the spiral building across the way from Souk Waqif), Rawnaq is a bit difficult to get to, but totally worth it. Rough directions – turn left opposite Souk Waqif – towards the Islamic Center (and Standard Chartered bank), turn right on the main road after the Islamic Center, take the next left and Rawnaq is at the end of the road. Parking is usually difficult, but there is a multi-storey carpark in the block before Rawnaq (elevator is broken though so don’t park too many floors up). There’s plenty of shops to explore in this area, and the material souk is right across the street so park up and have a wander round.

Sounds like a fun place to poke around!
