More than a dozen restaurants in Qatar will donate 100 percent of their cash revenue on Friday, May 6 to help support Syrians stuck in the under-siege city of Aleppo.
Massive bombing campaigns have increased the humanitarian crisis there, and several charities in Qatar are already on the scene to provide aid.
This week, Aspire Katara Hospitality (AKH) announced on its social media channels that it will team up with Qatar Charity to do its part.

In a statement to Doha News, AKH’s CEO Kholoud Al-Hail said Qatar has always been ready to extend support and hoped the move inspires other to pay it forward and help those in need.
“We hope we will also be able to encourage everyone to join us in making a difference for the people of Syria and also pray for those affected by years of conflict,” she said.
Participating restaurants include eateries at Katara Cultural Village and Aspire Park, such as Chapati & Karak, L’wzaar Seafood Market, le Vesuvio Italian Restaurant, Chac’Late, Burgeri and Salad Boutique, among others.
Emergency meeting
In response to attacks on Aleppo last week, Qatar has called for an emergency meeting of the Arab League, which will be held tomorrow.
“The meeting’s agenda is discussing the dangerous escalation seen in Aleppo where civilians are subjected to massacres at the hands of the forces of the Syrian regime, which led to the deaths and injuries of hundreds,” QNA reported earlier this week.
