Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim receives condolences from Donald Trump and Gulf leaders following the death of former Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, continues to receive condolences from regional and international leaders following the death of his father, the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Among those to speak with the Qatari leader was Kuwait’s Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, who expressed his sincere condolences to Sheikh Tamim, the Al Thani family and the people of Qatar during a telephone call.
Sheikh Meshal also prayed for the late Father Amir’s soul and reaffirmed Kuwait’s solidarity with Qatar during the mourning period.
U.S. President Donald Trump also telephoned Sheikh Tamim to offer his condolences and sympathies following the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The Qatari Amir thanked the U.S. president for his condolences and kind sentiments.
In a separate call, Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik conveyed his heartfelt condolences, praying that the late Father Amir would be granted God’s mercy and eternal paradise.
Sheikh Tamim expressed his appreciation for the Sultan’s brotherly support and sincere words of sympathy.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who led Qatar from 1995 until voluntarily transferring power to Sheikh Tamim in 2013, passed on Sunday at the age of 74.
During his 18-year reign, he oversaw a period of rapid transformation that reshaped Qatar’s political, economic and diplomatic standing, establishing the country as an increasingly influential player on the regional and global stage.
The messages of condolence underscore the widespread regional and international recognition of Sheikh Hamad’s legacy and his lasting impact on Qatar’s modern development.
