Eleven people have died and a dozen more are injured after a fire broke out at a labor camp in Qatar, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) has said.

The blaze apparently occurred late Wednesday night in the accommodation of men working on a “Salwa tourism project,” the ministry said, adding:

Those who were hurt in the fire have been hospitalized and an investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the blaze, the MOI said.

No nationalities of the victims were specified.

This appears to be the deadliest fire Qatar has seen since 19 people, including 13 children, suffocated at a daycare in Villaggio mall four years ago.
